Mission: Return to Tyra
Location: Various

Zolgon'Tar had been summoned to the Captain's ready room. It was early in the morning, not that it bothered him. He had left strict instructions to the other Jem'Hadar that they remain in their designated quarters until he returns.

Galag'Rin on the other hand had other ideas. Once Zolgon'Tar had left the room he turned to the four other Jem'Hadar. "You and you." He said pointing to two of his men. "You shall proceed to the engine room of this vessel. Secure it, kill anyone in your way." He ordered. "This ship like other Starfleet vessels will have defensive measures. You both know how to get through their forcefields. Do not fail."

"You and you." He said turning to the other two. "You will come with me. We shall take the command center of this ship." He told them. "Zolgon'Tar will most likely be with their captain. We shall kill her along with him."

"We go into battle to claim Victory. And victory is life!"

"Victory is life!"

After that he made his way to the doors, they opened with a swish. There stood Ensign Reece Donovan along with newly promoted Isabella O'Reilly, both assigned on security duty.

Reece turned, confused as to why the door was opening. Only for his head to be grabbed by one of the Jem'Hadar and twisted quickly to one side breaking his neck, killing him instantly. Isabella reached for her phaser, but before she could she was grabbed by one of the Jem'Hadar and thrown against a bulkhead.

She stumbled backwards, as she drew her phaser ready to fire. However the Jem'Hadar was quicker, grabbing her hand and snapping it backwards. Then with quick and brutal efficiency, he wrestled it from her hand turned it on her and fired.

The orange phaser beam struck her knocking her down. "Pass me that." Galag'Rin said. He took the phaser and set it to a higher setting. Slowly he raised it and pointed it at the young Lieutenant before unleashing several barrages of phaser fire onto the young Lieutenant. She flopped to the floor, her life now ended.

"Go!" Galag'Rin ordered. The two Jem'Hadar shrouded and began off at a pace down the corridor, whilst he and the other two went the other way.

[Ready Room]

"Bridge to Captain Misaki!"

"Misaki here." Akeno replied holding up a hand to stop the conversation between herself and Zolgon'Tar.

"Captain. Phaser fire reported outside the Jem'Hadars quarters. The assigned guards are not responding." Akeno didn't gave to say anything in response as she rushed towards the door. "Red Alert!" She said stepping onto the bridge.

Mashiro glanced up. "Captain, what's the matter?"

"Reports of phaser fire outside the Jem'Hadar quarters," Akeno said. She turned and looked at Zolgon'Tar. "It would seem your men have disobeyed your orders..."

"Then we must arm ourselves," Zolgon'Tar stated. "If Ketracel withdrawal is beginning to take effect, it will only be a matter of time before they fully regress into a berserker state."

Akeno nodded and simply looked over to Mashiro.

"You heard her, everyone!" Mashiro barked. "I want all major systems locked out and all crew members armed and ready to engage at a moment's notice! I've already had this ship taken out from under me once, and I will not be letting that happen again!"

At once recognizing the severity of the situation, the bridge crew wasted no time swinging into action.

"Sounding the general alarm, Captain!"

"All major tactical and propulsion systems have been locked out, Captain!"

"All access ports to and from Deck 3 have been completely sealed off, Captain!"

[Sickbay]

Doctor Johnson was working in his office in Wayfarer's sickbay. He finished reviewing his study on Jem'hadars and Ketracel White. It was probably his masterpiece on alien medicine so far, proud as he was he laid back on his office's chair and smiled. As soon as he transferred his paper on the perosnal PADD to have the captain review it, the red alert klackson alerted him.

"What's going on?" a female officer eched his thoughts while approaching a biobed and getting the emergency kits ready for any possible need.
Mark stood up and ran outside his office "Till we get a better grasp of the situation, everyone get ready for the worst case. Recall all medics and sickbay personnel in here, all biobeds, stand-by for whatever casualty might arrive. I'm going to find out" he barked out orders while hitting his comm-badge.

=^= Captain from Sickbay, may we have an update on what to expect down here, ma'am? =^=

Akeno's voice answered. "It seems that our guests may have gone Rogue on us Doctor. Secure sickbay and prepare for incoming casualties."

Damn, Mark thought.
=^= We'll be ready for whatever will come, captain=^= the doctor answered trying to reassure her as much as himself.

Once heard about the breakthrough of Jem’Hadars, Mark summoned his officers and personnel in the center of the sickbay.
“Ok then” he started to brief them “Our guests, the Jem’Hadars, escaped. They are running free on the vessel, and we all know what they are capable of. We’ll have to provide medical assistance to every injured officer. We’ll probably need to transport a few in here if they find themselves in places of the ship that are isolated. There’s a security detachment on guard at the entrance of sickbay since this area is considered a core area of the ship and we can assume sooner or later Jem’Hadars will try to breach in.”

He spelled each word calmly, as if he was undertaking a routine surgery.

“Whatever happens, keep in mind our job and role on board. Everyone dismissed.” He concluded.

[Luna's Quarters]
Luna was teaching Eclipse how to play the guitar, when the Red Alert Klaxon blared.

Eclipse screamed in fright, diving under the nearest table and "hiding".

"Stay here and keep this door locked, Little One. I will return when the danger is passed," Luna stroked Eclipse's hair, then got her phaser and Bat'leth, and raced for the Bridge.

[Bridge]

The lights on the bridge washed the crew in hue's of red. "Bridge to Commander McKenzie. We're sealing off deck three. Have your security teams armed and covering the access ports," Akeno said tapping her comm badge.

Raelyn and half a dozen security officers were already out the door of the armory. As soon as the klaxons sounded she knew what was happening. She slammed her badge. "Already on it ma'am. We're on our way."

"Be careful. You know how dangerous they can be." Akeno warned simply a hint of worry in her voice.

"God damnit, I knew this was going to happen..." Mashiro grumbled as she retrieved a phaser rifle from a nearby storage locker and set the stun settings to kill.

Luna barged onto the Bridge.

"What's our status, Captain?" Luna asked, cracking her knuckles.

"Looks like there's trouble with our Jem'Hadar guests, grab a phaser and set to heavy stun. If they're making a move then there's no telling what can happen." Akeno replied.

"Aye, Captain. nuHneH (cowards)" Luna huffed, grabbing an extra phaser from the locker and changing both phaser's ettings accordingly.

"Zolgon'Tar. We will need your help, you know your men. What will their strategy be?" Akeno asked. She had grabbed the phaser from under her chair and set it to heavy stun.

Zolgon'Tar carefully weighed in on the situation.

"Were I to wager a guess, they will most likely attempt to seize control of all major facilities on board your vessel," he speculated. "Our... late overseer was a brilliant tactician, and he had always stressed that by maintaining the high ground, we would hold some degree of leverage with which to facilitate our enemies' surrender."

Akeno nodded. She tapped her comm badge. "Misaki to Mckenzie. There's a possibility that the Jem'Hadar will attempt to seize areas of importance. I'm dispatching more security to Engineering, Sickbay and the shuttlebay."

"Aye ma'am" Raelyn said as she entered the turbolift with her detachment of security. She looked at a crewman and a petty officer second class. "Wilkins, Monroe, I want you to divert to main engineering" she ordered. She knew that more security were already going to those three locations, however she couldn't spare any more out of the half dozen security she had with her.

"Aye ma'am" the two said collectively.

[Deck 3]

Raelyn and the four other officers arrived on deck three. As they exited she turned back to the enlisted crewmen. "Stay frosty" the lift doors closed just as she spoke.

The five officers broke into a tactical delta formation that took up the entire corridor. She didn't know what to expect. If the deck had been sealed off then they'd be coming across their own, and alive. Or not.

There were two security officers laying lifeless against the bulkhead next to the door. Raelyn raised her arm for the rest of the group to halt. She then silently indicated for the others to cover her as she crouched down next to the bodies. She felt for their pulses. Nothing. They were in fact dead.

The doors to the quarters were closed, as if they had simply closed as usual, yet the room behind them was void of anyone. The corridor was deathly silent.

[Bridge]

On the Bridge, Luna tapped her comm.

=/\=Eclipse, stay in our quarters and do NOT open the door for ANYONE except me or the command staff, understood?=/\= Luna knew she was being slightly sharp, but this situation could escalate quickly and she wanted Eclipse to be safe.

=/\=Yyes Mma'am,=/\= Eclipse's voice was shaking badly.

=/\=All will be well, Little One, I promise,=/\= Luna soothed.

=/\=Ii know. Please be well Ma'am,=/\= Eclipse's voice had calmed.

Akeno paced the bridge waiting for the report. "Commander, what did you find?" She asked tapping her own comm badge.

"Ensign Riggs and Petty Officer Kol are dead ma'am. No sign of the Jem'Hadar" Raelyn reported. "We're going to stay frosty and try to clear as much as we can. What are your orders?"

'Two dead... Jem'Hadar missing... Her fears had come true.... She stumbled backwards, shaking as she half fell half sat in the command chair. The screams of the Dominion War were coming back to her, ringing in her ears. She could see the flames, the violence, the blood, the shouting. It was as if she was transfixed, staring out as the horrors replayed like a broken record in her mind. She could feel the sweat starring to surface on her forehead, the gut wrenching feeling in her stomach tying it in knots. She began to struggle for breath, she knew they were coming, they were loose once again and they were out for one thing. Blood.

"Captain!"

Mashiro's words pierced through her daze like an arrow; coming back to her senses, Akeno found her XO standing over her, a look of concern on her face.

"Are you alright, Captain?" Mashiro asked. "Do you need us to escort you down to sickbay?"

Akeno snapped back, the horrors starting to subside. "No..." she said. She looked down hiding the tears forming in her eyes. She wiped her face with her sleeve. "I'm good. I'm good..."

Mashiro frowned. "With all due respect, Captain, you're having an emotional breakdown in the midst of a crisis; like hell I'm going to believe that."

A moment of silence fell upon them. Finally Akeno shot up to her feet. "I'm staying right here like a good Captain!" She said. Fire burned in her eyes. She turned to Zolgon'Tar. "You." She said as she took a step towards him.

"You're their leader. Two of my crew are dead. We've shown you nothing but kindness!" She growled at him. "Get off my bridge and go control your men! Like the good little soldiers you're supposed to be!" She didn't care if she was coming across as aggressive towards him. Enough was enough and she was finally putting her foot down.

She then looked over at Mashiro. "Commander Munetani! You're going with him! So grab a phaser and stop those Jem'Hadar! Now!"

The two of them glared coldly at Akeno. If she'd been in a better mindset, Akeno might have realized that she had just bitten off way more than she could chew. But in the heat of the moment, she didn't have the time or patience to consider her actions.

Finally, Mashiro shifted her gaze over to Zolgon'Tar. "We'd best get going, First," she ordered.

The Gamma nodded and proceeded to follow Mashiro and a small squad of officers into the turbolift.

As adrenaline ran through Akeno's veins, she returned to her chair and pulled up the console between the command chairs. It was time to defend her ship, her home and her family.

When the turbolift opened for Mashiro, they were met with a very agitated Havana brown cat. The feline's eyes glistened at it looked up at Mashiro and let out a loud intimidating hiss. It clearly was not thrilled at the presence of Mashiro or the Gamma. Regardless, it quickly darted between Mashrio's legs and headed out onto the bridge.

"Jesus Christ!" Mashiro shrieked, nearly dropping her phaser in all the commotion. "Somebody restrain that damn thing before I vaporize it!"

It found its way to Captain and leapt upward onto Akeno, purring up a storm and nudging the Commanding Officer. Perhaps in the captain's moment of need, the cat had come to offer some support and comfort with its warmth and soothing purring.

Akeno jumped at the sudden appearance of the cat and it jumping up onto her knee. "Where did you come from huh?" she said softly as she scratched between the cats ears. She lowered her voice to almost a hush. "Its almost like you knew I needed some comfort..."

The cat slow blinked at Akeno, circling around for a few moments before settling in on the Captain's lap. This was the best seat in the house, a commanding view where the real action was at. The perfect place for a cat, just a plain simple mischievous house cat.

Luna had wanted to react, but events unfolded so fast all she could do was smiled in appreciation to the cat in the Captain's lap.

The comm had gone silent for several minutes. Raelyn was about to order her men to the bridge in fear that the Jem'Hadar had overrun it. "Captain, your orders?"

"If they re not on deck three, they'll likely be heading to Main Engineering. I've been informed that's a typical tactic to secure a vessel." Akeno responded.

To be continued...
