Junior arrives

Mission: The Captains Child
Location: Sickbay

[Sickbay]

"I KNEW THAT I SHOULD NEVER HAVE TRUSTED YOU!" Screamed Junior through Akenos voice on the otherside of the forcefield. "I guess, I'll just have to arrive early!"

The light in Akenos eyes seem to come back. "What... where..." then the intense pain began. She let out a scream as the pain shot through her body like lightning. It was like nothing she had ever encountered before.

"Doctor!" She half shouted half cried. "This... thing... is..." she clasped her hands to her belly. "It's COMING OUT!"

Mckenzie hurried into sickbay as the medical staff were rushing to the Captain. "What the hell is going on in here?" she asked no-one in particular, but wanting answers.

Pepone came out of the Chief's office.

"I did warn you that it could accelroate the time frame." It was an alien entity and thus not as 'Beholden' to the normal process or even the statistical time lines. "Biobed One is been prepped since your initial visit and we can help with this so long as the entity is willing to follow human physical laws?"

Pepone had been monitoring the Captain through the interior sensors; manual override had slightly slowed the reaction time but Pepone knew the ENtity would not wait.

"Bring her over here." Gesturing to the Bio-bed as Pepone was helped into scrubs.

Akeno was helped over to one of the biobeds. "I saw everything... that he... she.. it... did" Akeno said breathing heavily. "But I couldn't control my own body...." she winced at the sudden pain that overcame her body.

Pepone activated the sterilization field and checked the Bio-monitors. The systems showed a very healthy heartbeat for the entity that was readying to come into the world.

I have two steady pulses..." Pepone had the insturments ready. "The cervex is dilated to the proper range..." Pepone went down the checklist. "It seems our little entity has followed the DNA processing of what should be a birth." The process was beginning at a text-book operation. "The pain will be only a short time... prepared to push."

Akeno grasped onto the side of the biobed as the pain rushed through her body. It was like nothing she had ever felt before. She let out a scream as she felt an incredible urge to push.

However it didn't work, she sat there breathing heavily. "Whats going on?" she panted.

"It seems the entity has a reluctance to come out..." Pepone turned to the bio-monitor and called up the requested 'medicine.' "Put in 10 cc's of OXYTOCIN and 15 cc's of Analgesics ."

Pepone had used a medicine that is for During Child Birth to cause stronger muscle contractions while the dose of analgesics wil not affect muscle sensation; while the pain will be better dealt with the Captain would still have a textile sensation of muscle control for her efforts in 'Pushing' to aid the child Birth.

Pepone was well aware o fthe effects of the added 'pressure' upon the entity; and while; in essence, Pepone was working to separate the entity from the natural 'Life SUpport of the Captain's natural body, it would also sever any physical connections to the captain that is used by the entity.

"Now we continue the natural process..." Pepone smiled as the new additions of the medicines aided in the separation of the entity from the Captain. "Now, push..." Pepone asserted.

Akeno beamed down, the strange feeling to push. The intense pain ran through her body like a thousand knives. She was breathing heavily, taking very deep breaths to keep her calm. She closed her eyes with every push and couldn't help but let out screams. Junior was obviously not wanting to come out easily.

"I... never thought I would..." she paused. "Have a child... like... this!" She half shouted half cried. Indeed Akeno deep on her heart did want to have children in her future, but with a man she loved, not a Malicious alien entity.

(A little later)

Juniors head emerged and the body of the baby followed shortly after. The baby had come out as a female, a complete clone of Akeno herself. Akeno relaxed as the pain diminished and she laid back, exhausted from the experience.

Pepone quickly used a small 'puffer' to suck out the airways and then massaged the back of the newly born to stimulate breathing while moving to an incubator.

Once the baby had been placed into the incubator, a warning sign began to sound. Juniors breathing was laboured, its small heart was failing. For one moment Junior opened her eyes and looked around before taking one breath and a flat tone echoed around the sickbay.

Pepone had seen similar type of signal but with still born children. A minor stimulation that did little more than register as having been done. The Newly Born Child did not survive without the Motherly 'Life Support.' A suspician that Pepone had from the beginning , evidant by the rapid growth.

Junior starred to glow a bright light as the entity inside her began to fade. Unbeknown to the entity and Starfleet staff, but the entity could never leave the Nebula. Nor was it ever able to survive in such a complex physical form.

The baby glowed, before turning into what seemed pure energy.
A small voice called out, weak but still audible. "Thank you, for... releasing me..."

Slowly the energy faded with a flash and Junior and the human form that had been 'prepared' inside Akenos womb had disappeared. Junior had escaped the Nebula, but upon taking physical form had not managed to survive and passed on.

"What.. just.. happened?" Akeno asked, her breathing still heavy.

"Junior required a special Life Support than only a Mother could give, the physical form was transitory and I believe could not survive outside the environment it was accustomed." Pepone moved over to check on the Captain.

"Where the hell did that-" she controlled herself. "Where did Junior go?" she asked rhetorically. She felt uneasy not knowing where Junior went. She had bigger issues to deal with right now, however.

She then tapped her badge. =^=Mckenzie to all available security, please initiate a sweep of the ship the ensure that the entity known as "Junior" is off the ship=^=

Raelyn approached the Captain. "Captain, I have no right to request this of you given your current state, but are you able to regain control of the computer?"

Akeno nodded. "Computer" she said. "Unlock Navigational controls and restore computer control"

The computer beeped. "Command Codes are locked by Authorization of Lieutenant Soecter, Intelligence code required" the computer replied. Akeno speculated he must have done it to try and prevent Junior accessing more of the computer controls

"Misaki to Specter, restore all computer Command processes. I'm no longer compromised and we need control of essential systems back"

It was a safe place to be away from all the problems; 'Specter' accessed his office; no need to be burdened with the information any longer. The program was a simple one; the Command Codes safely embedded in memory storage that Specter used often. However It was not put back into the computer without some verification, tapping into the Sick Bay computer system Specter ran a scan of the events and decided one more level of Security is required.

=^= Secondary confirmation required Captain. =^= One could almost see the smirk on his face. =^= Forgive me if I do not take you at your word for the moment.=^=

The entity has left tha Captain..." Pepone spoke. "I also believe this realm of existence. You have 'My' word that the Captain is very much herself with no outer entity pulling the strings."

=^= Very well, I do trust the Doctor in this instance.=^= Specter agreed.

"Perhaps your efforts were helpful, as the entity said, it was released from that prison, just what it wanted and sought to have done in a less than ... friendly way Ma'am?" Pepone pointed out, "yet it did thank us for giving it final freedom, you could find solice in that could you not?"

Akeno simply nodded. She laid back down and stared at the ceiling. This had been a very strange day for her.

'Computer function restored, Command Code verification required.' The computer requested.

"Lieutenant" she said addressing Mckenzie. "If you wouldn't mind returning back to the bridge and steering us back towards a friendly star?" she asked still slightly out of breath.

"Yes ma'am. Anything else?" she asked quickly.

"Nothing else. I'm just going to have a quick nap right now" Akeno responded. She was exhausted, she slowly shut her eyes and in a matter of seconds had fallen into slumber.

Raelyn left sickbay quietly and headed up to the bridge to carry out the Captain's orders. It had been a hell of a mission her, and possibly the rest of the crew. But nevertheless, everything was finally alright.
