Onboarding III

Mission: Deep Space Nine
Location: USS Wayfarer

Ithi after her trip to the bar, heads back on board to do the other check in she wanted and needed to do as she is still sober having only drank root beers and buzzes at the Exec's quarters door.

"Come"

Lt. Deritan entered Sito's quarters and stood before him as he sits at his desk. "What can I do for you Lieutenant?" He asked as he interlaced his fingers.

She looked at him "Just reporting in Sir, already reported to the skipper, got my quarters and office, though that seems a little empty and brand new. but hey who's complaining? Next stop on that list of officers to check in with was the three pips"

"I see." Sito leaned back in his chair. "So tell me Lieutenant, what do you bring to the Wayfarer?"

"Hard work and dedication sir, plus a skill set most ships like this do not get" She would reply

"I have read your file, and from what I can see of it you have had an impressive career, so far?" There was a pause as Sito picked up a PADD and read a few lines. "How would you describe yourself Lt. Deritan? Confident? A leader? A hot-head?" Sito waited patiently for Deritan to digest the words before answering.

"I am a bit of a hothead, won't deny it, but no men or women under my command have ever complained about my leadership ability, and the fact I am still just a Lieutenant after ten years while many of my people have been promoted ahead of me, has no bearing on my leadership skills but due to another item sir" she was wondering just how much of his file her actually read since the captains eyes only section was suppose to be eyes only.

"I have it on good authority you ARE a bit of a hot-head Lieutenant? You have also been called a loose cannon by one former superior officer? What do you say to these charges?" He looked at her, waiting for a reply.

"I am not a loose cannon sir, but in some cases officers have been known to be wrong because they did not trust in me, which is one reason for the loose cannon, though most likely it's because I accidentally broke rules by sleeping with a admiral's twin daughters and he didn't like my response when he tried to punish me" she stated mater of factually "especially when i looked at him and said I wish he had a son to join us as well"

A sly smile formed at the corner of Sito's mouth. "I had heard a rumour about that and you have just confirmed it Lieutenant. It seems MY Intelligence was correct on that one. You are not the only Intelligence Officer who has broken the rules and I doubt you will be the last." He carried on scrolling down the PADD.

"Your uniform we can overlook. I have dealt with many Intelligence Officers during my career who have looked worse then you. As long as you do your job and keep the Ship and Federation safe we will get along just fine! Do you understand Lieutenant?"

"Oh no worries there sir, believe me I like my home staying in one piece, as for safety of the federation. 32 total black ops missions have proven how far I am willing to... go to protect the federation" She doesn't go into more detail than that.

"For the record Lieutenant, Black Ops is something you should never discuss or admit to doing, ever! Many good Intelligence officers have been undone by loose tongues, especially in the bed chamber." He leans back in his chair once more. "Is there anything you would like to add?"

She smirks at him softly "Ya, your not as much of an asshole as your file suggests Sir!"

Sito looks at her sternly, wondering whether to take it's a compliment or not? He stands up to his full height, straightens his tunic and smiles. He puts out his hand and catches a surprised look on her face. Hesitantly she takes hold.

"Welcome to the Wayfarer Lieutenant Deritan. Dismissed!"

She smirks and does a flourish bow before leaving
