Up The Shaft

Mission:
In The Beginning...
Location: USS Wayfarer
Timeline: Present

The Captain had finished mingling in the main shuttle-bay, and was eager to make his way up to deck one to survey the bridge.
He entered the corridor, which had started to become busier by now, and stepped into the nearby turbo-lift. “Bridge.” the man ordered as the lift started to move up the shaft.
Moments later he was on the bridge of the Wayfarer. The bridge was so advanced compared to the other ships he had served on. The consoles and stations looked so much more technical and complicated. Thankfully he had spent the last few days going over the ship’s blueprints and specifications, so roughly knew what each button did.
His eyes surveyed the area and he saw the door to his ready room. He wondered what it looked like inside, and if the engineers had given the place any personality.
Stepping into the room, he found it to be rather bare and sterile. A perfect canvas to put his own spin on it. He imagined the various plants he could place in the corners of the room, and certain paintings that would look great hung up on the walls. “I can work with this.”
He moved to the replicator and ordered a frothy latte. Frothy lattes were his favourite beverage while on duty. Off duty was another matter completely.
Unexpectedly, the door chime sounded, indicating that someone was awaiting permission to come in. Mike grabbed his latte and took a seat behind his desk. “Enter!”
