Mission: The Avenger
Location: USS Avenger
Timeline: MD-03 after "So Many Problems, So Little Time"

:ON:

“Paxton to Tyvok, we’re about to need those fantastic computer skills of yours!” Avery announced through her combadge. “We’re headed down to engineering now. I need you to figure out a way to tie helm control for the Avenger to the Wayfarer, basically turning her into a remote controlled ship. We’re going to use her as a decoy when the Romulans come along.”

Tyvok tapped his commbadge, "=/\=Acknowledged, lieutenant.=/\=" He then accessed the comm relays that he had earlier encrypted, and began establishing an encrypted two-way link between the Avenger and Wayfarer.

She turned to the Captain, “shall we?” She asked as she motioned towards the turbolift.

Mike walked into the turbolift first, quickly followed by Avery. “Engineering.” He ordered once the doors were closed. But the lift did nothing. He frowned, “Computer, engineering.”

Avery leaned across Mike with a smile and pressed for the engineering deck on the lift panel. As she did, he caught a quick intake of her scent and felt his heart flutter slightly. ”What the hell...?!” he questioned himself. He was disgusted by the notion that he found himself attracted to his own Chief Engineer, especially during this situation! He mentally shook the thought out of his mind and refocused on the task at hand.

A thought entered Avery’s mind as she leaned across the Captain. In that moment, he looked familiar, like a faint memory from an ancient earth movie that she used to like. “What was that movie again?” She wondered.

Thankfully, the doors opened and the officers stepped out of the confined turbolift and into main engineering. As they walked towards the Vulcan computer specialist, Mike saw that the Avenger’s crew were being beamed away two or three at a time. ”Good,” he thought to himself, ”Commander Sito is following my orders.”

"Status?" Avery inquired as she approach Tyvok.

Tyvok was furiously typing at a console when the duo walked in. "I have successfully established a secure channel to the Wayfarer, and have transferred helm control. Unfortunately, there has been extensive damage to the propulsion systems, and despite repairs, there will be limited mobility. The ship should be able to maintain half impulse, and warp speed is out of the question."

“I guess there’s no reason for us to stick around then, right?” Paxton asked, trying to remain cool and collected even though she really wasn't a fan of standing on a ship that was rigged to self-destruct.
