Confession Is Good for the Soul

Mission: Return to Tyra
Location: Conference Room, Deck 1, USS Wayfarer

Post the staff meeting Lieutenant j.g. Rommel waited patiently for the rest of the crew to clear the conference room. She chewed nervously on her gum. When eceryone had finally left she ordered the computer to do two things. =/\=Computer seal door and dampen and ensure no communications or recordings are on in conference room.=/\= She knew it was most likely going to make the captain upset.

With a deep breath Patra began to speak "First I apologize about sealing the room as I did. What I am about to discuss and show you is classified Eta Sigma Kappa Alpha. I am most likely going to get sent to Jaros II stockade if Starfleet Admiralty finds out. I already knew about our mission, even before you knew."

Akeno gave her a small smile. "It wouldn't be the first time some ad.iral wants someone under the rank of Captain to do their dirty work." She said. She indicated for Patra to sit in the seat next to her where Commander Munetani would usually sit. "So, what do they want you to do?"

Patra took the offered seat and sighed, “Like I said if this gets out beyond you and me, off to Jaros II stockade. What do you know of the rogue element that was in Starfleet Intelligence known as Section 31? It would appear the individuals in Section 31 put a hologram program on board the USS Atlantic which is currently in a decaying orbit over Tyra II. What makes this significant is that the hologram, which went by the name Kagan had operational control of all but one starship’s Intelligence and Communications systems, as an underlying sleeper virus. The hologram managed to escape with the remaining fourteen ships, however the original program/hologram is still on board the USS Atlantic, to make matters worse it has control of three experimental fighters and is seeking revenge on both Starfleet, it perceives that it was abandoned by Starfleet, and the Dominion.”

Here Patra paused to let the captain ask any questions she may have.

"So there's a Hologram with a grudge? And they sent you to 'deal with it's?" Akeno asked.

Patra exhaled sharply before answering "I wish it was as simple as that. I am to retrieve and contain the damn thing. Ensure it doesn't jump to any vessels or computers and then turn it over to a Starfleet Intelligence officer code named Green Cloud. The reason I was chosen for this task is I created the probes that have and are actively scanning the system." Here Patra tapped a few commands on her PaDD and a three-dimensional diagram of the Tyra system came up: listing every known ship hull or major ship parts. it showed where they were, and which were in decaying orbits. She then tapped a few more commands and the real images of these vessels and debris came up, with images of dead floating bodies. "As you can see the data you have is not the same as I have. This was accurate as of one hour ago. This project was why I was pulled away from the ship for as long as I was."

Akeno nodded. "Well, do what you need to do," she said with a smile. "Have Lieutenant Spectre reinforce our computer security. The last thing we want is for some bad program to get into our systems.

Patra nodded, “Understood captain, however I cannot inform Lietenant Spectre of what we are retrieving, nor should there be a need to protect the Wayfarer’s computer system. I have an isolation case to keep ‘our guest’ in, which will immediately go into the Ship’s Vault until it is handed over to agent Cloud. I also am requesting Ensign Caiíona Brighid Céilid from ops to accompany us. My plan is to fly one of the Type 8 shuttlecraft over to the USS Atlantic and board her. We will proceed to the main computer core and I will access the core with override codes provided and bring our ‘guest’ into his new home.”

The Captain pondered for a brief moment. "Alright..." she said. "Well, if anyone asks you are just another salvage team." She told her. "As far as anyone else knows, you're just carrying out this ships original orders..."

Patra smiled “Very well captain, will try and make it a quick and thorough recovery and ensure the other two are not injured. Thank you for allowing me to unload my concerns, been working way to much with the Admiralty, and Starfleet Intelligence as of late, not what I signed up for.”

Akeno gave her a brief smile. "Thats a line we all can relate to recently." She said as she pushed herself up out of the chair. "Do what you need to. If the orders come from higher up, there's not a lot I can do about it. Just be careful ok."

"Aye, aye captain" stated Patra as she stood to exit the conference room.

Akeno remained seated for a few moments after Patra left the conference room. She let out a sigh. 'This mission just got more complicated' she thought.
