| Personal History | Patra is one of those rare humans that was born or gifted with an extremely high I.Q. and eidetic memory. As a very young child she became to much for her mother and father to deal with and they shipped her off to live with her paternal grandfather, Johannes Erich Rommel, a distinguished Professor Emerita of Technical University of Munich. Recognizing her high intelligence and fascination with all things mechanical he indulged her curiosity. He focused her attention on such things as horology (clock/watch making), wood carving, and the engine mechanics of such vehicles as his hover car and shuttle craft. At the age of eight she took apart the engine of her grandfathers hover car and put it back together, all in one month, and improved the engine output performance. Her grandfather used his considerable influence in academia to have her placed in a very special program for gifted children. She thrived under the rigorous academics, being tutored and taught by some of the top Human, Vulcan, Tellarite and Andorian teachers and tutors. At the age of fourteen she was accepted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She graduated at the age of eighteen with two doctoral degrees: Computational Science and Engineering (PhD. Doctor of Philosophy) and Aeronautics and Astronautics (ScD. Doctor of Science). After she graduated she then applied to the University of Miami and studied Underwater Archaeology earning a Master of Professional Science by the age of twenty. After she had graduated she got into a huge fight with her parents and in a show of spite and defiance she joined the Federation Merchant Marine. She soon found her way to the Federation Merchant Marine Academy on Danula II. There she studied to be an Engineer, which she found hilarious given her academic accomplishments. She graduated from the academy with yet more degree in engineering; a Doctoral of Energy Engineering, with a Master of Engineering: Energy and Power Engineering. She was then assigned to the Federation Merchant Marine Ship: S.S. Nostromo. There under the careful and sometimes down right harsh tutelage of the Chief Engineer Lieutenant S’Adrasaur (a male Gorn) she learned what it meant to be a starship engineer. She thrived under Lieutenant S’Adrasaur, who quickly had her doing courses on Damage Control Engineering, Structural and Environmental Engineering, Spaceship Shield Engineering, and Transporter Engineering. The S.S. Nostromo was assigned a clandestine mission with Star Fleet Corps of Engineer ship: USS Narbonne. During the highly classified mission Patra impressed the Captain and Chief Engineer of the USS Narbonne. They quickly convinced her to join Star Fleet as an Engineer and helped to fast track her process of “Stepping Up” to Star Fleet Academy. She was placed on a fast track system through Star Fleet Academy and was on her Cadet Cruise; USS Shepard when there was a hull breach by a rogue meteorite that had not been caught in the ships deflector shield system. Instead of evacuating as ordered Patra slide into an emergency EVA suit and worked forward towards the breach. There she used emergency breaching material to patch the breach and help restore pressure and stability to the ship, once again demonstrating her knack for thinking on her feet. For the next seventy two hours she worked tirelessly to assist and lead the engineering repair teams, until she was ordered to finally get some rest. She was awarded the Drakon Cluster of Courage for her actions. She was then Assigned to the USS Sydney. She was detached to the Federation Marine Detachment while serving aboard the USS Sydney for another classified mission. When she returned from that mission she was awarded the Tristar Cluster and a second Exceptional Performance of Duty Award. The details and reasons for these awards are still classified by Star Fleet Command. She has had a stellar career with the exception that it is noted on her performance evaluations that she has issues with the chain of command. | |
