In The Tubes

Mission: Cracks in the mirror
Location: Jeffrey Tubes, USS Wayfarer

Akeno crawled through the vast jeffrey tube network of the Wayfarer. The Terrans controlled every deck, so this was her only way of making progress through the ship, however it wouldn't be long until they found her. She had been making subtle adjustments to the systems she had come across as she progressed. Pulling out random power relays, the occassional bio-neural gel-pack and ensuring that she did enough damage to prevent the Wayfarer from falling into their hands indefintely, but not enough to be detected.

It was a long tedious crawl down to the brig located down on deck nine. She had to get down eight decks to release her crew, or at least release the senior officers. Right now the other officers and enlisted had been cooped up in Cargo Bay Two.

The hatch infront of her opened and she instantly raised the phaser she had in her hand.

"Don't shoot!"

She was met with the familiar face of Xander Benson. She let out a sigh of relief, at least the Terran's didn't have him. If anyone knew her weaknesses at the moment it would be the man she had brought aboard with her from Risa. They had been engaged in a romantic relationship since their meeting on Risa.

She pushed forward and embraced him. "I thought they might have you too. What are you doing here?" she asked.

Xander smiled. "I was trying to hide from those Terrans. I don't know much about them, but obviously they are trouble." He explained. "I thought it best to get into the maintenance tubes, there would be less chance of running into them in here."

He looked at her as she sat crossed legged in the tube. "What happened to you?"

Akeno blushed slightly. "It doesn't matter. Lets just say that the Terran version of me has certain 'ways' of getting information. However luckily my Chief Inteligence Officer managed to get me free of her. I'm heading towards the Brig, the senior officers are trapped there."

Xander nodded. "Did she hurt you?"

She looked down at the floor for a moment. "In a way. I think the men she set on me enjoyed themselves more than I did..."

"I will kill them!" Xander growled. "How dare they touch or do anything like that to you!"

"No no, thats not necessary." Akeno said fondly at her partner. "Listen, I want you to stay low. Don't give them any reason to hurt or kill you. Just stay in the tubes, avoid detection. Once I have released the senior officers we can take back the ship."

Xander nodded and looked into her bright blue eyes. Slowly he moved closer and kissed her softly. "Be careful ok. I don't want to lose you. You mean everything to me."

"I will be. But remember, I need you too. Don't take an unnecessary risks." She told him with a slight smile. "I'll come and get you when this is all over ok."

He nodded as he gently brushed a few strands of hair out of her eyes. "I will Akeno. Just don't get killed out there ok. I want you to come back to me safe. I need you in my life."

Akeno blushed again. "I need to get moving. If they get internal sensors working again, which I doubt will be long, they will know where I am," she told him. She gripped her phaser tightly as she squeezed past him. "Take care out there ok. I'll see you later"

Xander nodded as he let her pass. Once she had passed he sealed the hatch behind her and began to crawl away away in the jeffries tubes. A strange smile began to emerge on his face as he reached a junction and stepped out into one of the corridors.
