Crew Address & Some Changes

To all crew of the USS Wayfarer.
I just want to take a few moments to thank Captain Sprague for his efforts at keeping the ship going and keeping the center seat warm until I took command.
I also want to thank you all for your continued participation and efforts in keeping the ship alive through these difficult times. As your new Captain (Even if its not in character yet), I am going to be making a few changes which I have discussed with our new Executive Officer. However before we get to that, I want to make it clear that these changes are to improve the quality of the sim and are more like guidelines to follow. I'm not going to be enforcing them like Miss Trunchball. (You can do it Brucey!)
The changes I am going to be making are as follows:
1. Introduction of Minimum Word Counts for Solo & Joint Posts and Personal logs.
- Solo Posts comprising of one character should be no shorter than 500 Words and written in the 3rd Person
- Joint Posts comprising of one or more characters should be no shorter than 850 Words and written in the 3rd Person. Ideally I would like 1000 Words however I understand we should work up to this over time.
- Personal Logs should be no shorter than 250 words and should be written in the 1st Person like a diary entry or internal monologue.
2. I will be rewriting several pages of the Wayfarer website to make it more attractive to new players and to have more detail and information. Rewrites will be happening over the website over the next few days and will include the following:
- A new fresh introduction/home page.
- A new 'USS Wayfarer' page including the ships history.
- The start of the Wiki, in which I will grant access to department heads to add to as we go along.
- A new skin which will be uploaded to give the ship a fresh new feel. Not that anything is wrong with the old skin, but lets get a look that makes us stand out! (Thanks to Admiral Gillis for uploading this for us)
3. Reorganization of the Wayfarers Manifest. This will be done to put the Bridge Officers in at the top of the manifest. The Manifest will be set out as follows:
Command
Flight Control
Security & Tactical
Operations
Science
Medical & Counseling
Engineering
Intelligence
Also I will be combining the Positions of Chief Security Officer and Chief Tactical Officer into one that being Chief Security/Tactical Officer. We are a relatively small ship so there is no need to have two chiefs in the same department.
4. A dedicated rules page will be written out in the next few days. This will act as our Code Of Conduct for all players. It will be written into the NOVA's rules pages Here. Keep your eye on it, it'll cover everything from basic respect to our posting requirements.
5. I aim to have the Ships Interior tour uploaded and finished by the end of this week. This will include images of all interior locations including The Bridge, Engineering, Sickbay, Quarters etc and should help us visualise the interior of the Wayfarer better.
Right, I've rambled on enough.

I am hoping this will lead the Wayfarer into a new era and will make it one of the best in the fleet. In the meantime, I shall leave you with a somewhat inspirational quote.
