To say that Captain Dick Sprague was ecstatic was an understatement. He re-read and re-read his approval for retirement. And then he re-read it again. In fact, his bags were already packed... even though the Wayfarer wasn't scheduled to pick him up for another week.

Sprague looked again at the USS Wayfarer's schedule:

- Drop a single individual off on Earth, go to Starbase 57 to pick up Captain Sprague and some others, and then finally head back to Earth to drop off the passengers.

He glanced around his now mostly bare quarters. There was nothing to do here. "This calls for celebration!" he said as he left his quarters for the starbase's food court.
