Into The Tubes

Mission: Hunted
Location: Jeffries Tubes

Elias dashed down the corridor with Akeno in tow after their fight with the Tyranian in the crew quarters. Rushing with feline speed and agility as they worked down to the nearest jefferies tube and hopefully a weapons locker. Elias couldn't keep using his stun lance. Broke it on one of the Tyranians.

"Jeffries tube seven should take us down to deck eleven." Akeno told him. "Its a long climb down though."

"I don't think that'll be an issue, the issue will be getting both of us armed up to take on these fucking dinos"

"No need for such language," Akeno told him. "I know theres a weapons locker on deck ten near the access to this tube, but its getting to it thats the problem." She explained. She pulled open the hatch, crouched down and aimed the phaser rifle inside. "At least these compression rifles have resistance to the dampening field," she said.

The sound of heavy footsteps echoed from down the corridor. Then the sound of people running. Then there was an ear splitting scream. Akeno turned towards the sound, as if instantly drawn to it. Someone on her crew needed help, she could save them, she had to save them.

Elias heard it too, moving in front of Akeno and taking the rifle from her. As the people approached he could hear the dinos behind them. He raised the rifle, took aim and let loose phaser bolts which struck the dinos right in the center mass.

And again

"Captain!" A young woman called out as she rushed forward. Her eyes were set on Akeno and she seemed happy to see her. However that soon changed. She crossed over a corridor intersection and from the ajoining corridor a Tyranian burst out of the darkness. Its long claws piereced the young officers torso with ease.

She let out a single cough, blood spluttering from her mouth as the Tyranian lifted up her body. Akeno watched in horror as its jaws ripped into her flesh, each bite taking more and more away from her no deceased corpse.

Then it spotted them. Throwing the remains of the officer to away down tje deck, it turned its heas sharply. Its eyes met Akeno's as it lowered its body, its tail rose into the air and its arms stretched out ready to pounce. With speed and power it began running towards Akeno and Elias.

Elias fired several more bolts before he once again scooped Akeno up and ran from the Tyranian, dashing towards a possible Jefferies Tube access point.

Akeno was literally thrown into the Jeffries tube. She landed with a thud. "Hey! I'm not a little kid you know!" She scowled at Elias. "I know you're bigger and physically stronger, but next time don't just scoop me up like some useless goldfish!". She stopped as she let out a wince in pain. The gash across her stomach where the Tyranian had swiped at her with her claws had started to hurt now. At first the adrenaline had been so high, she didn't even realise how badly she was injured. She ran a hand over it, flinching at the touch. "We need to get down to Engineering. If I don't pass out first..." she pulled her hand away and examined the blood that it was now soaked in.

She moved to one side of the tube. "I'm too badly injured. They can probably smell my blood from across this deck." Akeno told him. She held out the compression rifle. "Take this. Leave me here. Get to Engineering. Promise me that you'll save my crew. I'm no use to them like this." She told him. She felt like crying, but instead she gave him a look of endearing. "I can distract them, if they focus on me you stand more chance of escaping. Just, get them out of this."

Akeno reached out and tapped her comm badge. "All hands. This is Captain Misaki. Fight your way through the ship. Get to Engineering. Captain McEntyre will keep you all safe. Good luck... Goodbye..." She looked down at the floor of the tube, trying to hide a few silent tears that had escaped her eyes.

"You are not dying on me, goddamn it!" Elias stopped, pulling off the Individual First Aid Kit from his belt, opening it and began working to get her stabilized. He had a few hypos for the pain, which he administered her one of them and then lifted her up on his back to keep going. They had to make it to Engineering. To be fair, this was not the first time Elias had been in this kind of situation. He had to flee the Jem'hadar in similar conditions on Betazed.

"I told you to... go..." Akeno said weakly. She didn't even object to being carried, but she was starting to feel a bit of strength returning. However it wasn't enough to continue on her own for a while.

"Then you don't know me real well, Misaki. I don't leave people behind." Elias reasserted as he continued down the tube. He could go on for quite some time.

"Why?" She asked. "Why even bother with me? You're here... to get rid... of... me..." She tried to wiggle herself free, but the strength in her body was rapidly fading. "Fine..." she finally stuttered out before her eyes closed and she blacked out.
