Medical Checkup

Mission:
The Games
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Rain's arival on the ship before she goes to the bridge
The sickbay was busy as usual. Luckily, almost all biobeds were not occupied, only one had a patient in it. An engineering officer that suffered from bruises and burns due to a plasma feedback while he was rerouting an EPS subroutine of the ship.
Given initial medication, he was now under strict observation from the sickbay's personnel while he was approaching full recovery.
Mark was busy at his desk reviewing the crew's medical files and waiting for the scheduled officers' follow-up medical visits.
Well cut military style hair and unshaved face, his medical goon with initials embodied covered his duty uniform.
Before the young Betazoid went to the bridge to report in she wanted to make a quick stop to sickbay and have her physical done. Sickbay was not a place she liked but it had to be done.
When she entered the room, Rain looked around for the chief medical officer and spotted him sitting at his desk. Making her way to the front of his desk she stood with her hands behind her back "Hello sir, Lt Rain Lexington. Reporting for my physical. "
Dr. Mark Johnson looked up from his reports, his eyes briefly scanning the Betazoid officer standing before him. Her posture was rigid, formal—perhaps more so than necessary. He’d seen it before: officers who didn’t like being in sickbay but understood it was a necessary evil. Not that he loved having people roaming in his kingdom. The less non medical personnel in his sickbay and the better.
He exhaled quietly, nodding. “Lieutenant Lexington,” he acknowledged, setting aside his PADD. “Take a seat on biobed three.” He stood, stretching his shoulders before grabbing a medical tricorder from the nearby equipment tray.
“New face on board, huh?” he asked accompanying her to the diagnostic bed.
Rain made her way to biobed three and hopped up with ease. "Yes sir. I just arrived today. I thought it best to come see you first and get the physical done with before reporting to the bridge." She watched as he started his scans. "Have you been on this ship long?" she asked. Might as well try some small talk she thought.
“You make me blush, lieutenant” he commented with a smile “you prioritize me over the bridge personnel” he explained while running standard scans.
“It’s a couple of years already…time flies” Mark commented “You won’t get bored in here, I’m sure. As for the crew…most of them are nice. Did you request the transfer or was it imposed by command?” he asked the young officer.
"Well I can't let the Captain think she is the only important one on the ship" Rain joked with a chuckle.
"It was imposed by command...I think their way of keeping me out of trouble," she replied half jokingly. There was a somberness that went with her words for a brief moment until she put on that brave smile again.
"It sounds like you all have seen quite a bit of action out here. I like to get my hands dirty from time to time," the young warrior replied, her hand moving delicately down the weapon at her side. It wasn't customary for a Starfleet officer to have a weapon on them; however, as it was part of her culture, she went nowhere without her Ti'yala.
At first glance, the weapon appears like a stick. But that stick turns into a very dangerous weapon in the skilled hands of one Rain Lexington.
"So am I healthy?"
"Out of trouble and Wayfarer in the same sentence?" he laughed.
Mark completed the scans and signed off Lt. Lexington's personal file. He gave a polite nod, noting the weapon but thinking little of it. "Can’t see anything wrong with you, Lieutenant," he remarked, acknowledging her health. "Fit for duty."
"Thank you, Doctor, " she said as she gingerly hopped off the biobed. "It was nice talking to you. If there is nothing else, I should report to the bridge."
"Thanks to you, Lieutenant, it has been nice meeting you. Anything you need, you know where to find me," the CMO told the new officer. "Just try not to hurt yourself too much," he grinned.
"Have a nice day," he waved goodbye going back to his duties.
"You as well" she replied and left sickbay. "Now to report to the Bridge" she thought to herself.
