Luna brushed her horse, Coral's, midnight blue mane as she waited for Lieutenant Coyle to arrive. Her Arctic White Wolf, Misty, lay with her head across her paws facing the barn doors, her fur almost glowing in the slanting sunlight. Luna had invited her superior officer to the Holodeck to get to know him better and get some much needed relaxation. It had been a rough first week settling in to the ship and meeting her new crewmates. She did a last check of the tack, then turned to the door as Misty let out an excited bark.

Lt. Coyle reached the Holodeck doors checked the display screen to see what program was running. Lt. Luna asked Coyle to meet her in Holodeck 2 in order “get to know him better”. He entered and saw an old barn in the distance. As he got closer to the barn doors, he heard what he thought was barking from a dog. Coyle pushed through the doors of the barn and found Luna on a magnificent horse. The barking came not from a dog, but from a wolf.

“Lt. Luna, the honor is mine. I’m Lt. Avery Coyle. I understand we'll be working together on the bridge. This simulation is marvelous. May I ask why you chose this for our first meeting? “

He walked closer to the wolf. “Wolf, right? Doesn’t bite, does it?”

"Yes, sir. Don't worry though, Lieutenant, Misty wouldn't hurt a fly, would you, girl? I'm glad you could come. This is Coral, a Gypsy Vanner, one of my regular Holodeck picks. I put six others in the barn for your selection. Even if their breed is a bit high-strung, I've reprogramed them to be docile. That's Coco, Archie, Nala, Jazman, Matthew, and Mala," Luna pointed to a Paint, Arabian, Quarter, Friesian, Appaloosa, and Exmoor Pony in that order. "So, shall we be off?"
