Personal Log, Lt. (J.G.) Michael Lorca reporting.
After what seemed like a long journey on one ship to another, I have finally reached the USS Wayfarer. My quarters are excellent, and I am getting settled. Tomorrow I officially report for duty. I will need to review the medical records of all the crew members on the ship. I hope the CMO does not take offense. After all, I am some outsider coming to this ship saying, 'Yes, I need to check the mental health of everyone on this ship. It is not that Star-fleet does not trust you, but they don't. That is why they sent me.'
In any event, I will do my duty. I have been in Starfleet for a while now; this is just my first time on a ship--at least for more than a week or two at a time. Cadet cruises and temporary duty does not count. This is the real thing--I am here for the long haul.
I hope that the Captain will accept me into the fold of this ship and that I will be able to make friends. After all, it could be a long assignment if everyone takes offense to being examined by a counselor.
