Personal History William was born on Earth, Tonopah. State of Nevada, North America. George and Liza, his parents, lived a simple life. Both were teachers on the local school. Tonopah is a small city on the western border of the state. It does get hot there, but with the weather satellites, it doesn't get as hot as it used to. The area isn't as dry as the rest of the state, average rainfall for this area is 10 inches a month during the rainy season and 4 inches during the dry season.

Tonopah is a farming community, the main crop is corn and lima beans.

The elementary is a 5 room schoolhouse. Only 570 people live here year-round. Will's, as he's sometimes called, parents teach there.

Growing up, Will was always curious about things, space being the main topic. He kept his grades up by working hard. He didn't have a favorite course, he liked them all.

Tonopah didn't have any high schools, so the students had to go to the neighboring town of Hawthorne. Here Will excelled. His grades were the top of the class. He grew taller and stronger.

His favorite subject was astronomy. He loved to dream about visiting the planets on his maps.

When he graduated at 18, he applied to Starfleet academy, and was accepted.

His parents were proud of him.
Service Record When Cadet Peters arrived at the Academy, he didn't know what he wanted to study. All the other students knew what they wanted to study. So, Cadet Peters met with counselors and advisors an after 5 days of deliberation, the advisors and counselors all agreed, based on his physical appearance, strength and results of the many aptitude tests, the position of security and tactical was the best choice.

Peters selected the Security course as his major, with Tactical as his minor.

Now the hard part came, going to classes, studying, and working in the gym.

The first part of the term was hard. Will sometimes felt lost, but with the help of some of his classmates, he kept up and maintained an acceptable level.

The second half of the term was much better. His grades went up, he gained more muscle mass, and when all was said and done, he finished the first year of the Academy, ranked 75 out of 475 students in his freshman class.

Every year, he got better grades and grew in confidence.

By the end of the second year, he moved up to 49th in his class.

The third year, he did a lot of 'hands on' training. He was assigned to the USS Lexington for field training. His department head, Lieutenant Commander Nora drilled him and the other cadets hard. He learned some martial arts. How to field strip a phaser rifle. And he actually did some bridge training.

Cdr Nora gave him high marks for his time aboard the Lex.

He returned to the Academy to continue with his studies.

At the end of the 3rd year, he now ranked 35th.

His senior year was a lot of work he already covered, more ship training, this time on the USS Dakota. The Dakota was scheduled to do some deep space exploration.
As on the Lex, the security chief took his cadets and put the through their paces. Everyone had bridge time. The chief, with the captain's permission, had the cadets go through battle simulations. One simulation was to have 3 unidentified ships surround the Dakota. One simulation had the three ship's demand the Dakota surrender and prepared to be boarded. Another was to have the ship's open fire. With the security chief standing by, the captain gave orders to tactical to respond. Some of the cadets froze, with the chief having to pause the simulation and replace that cadet with another cadet. When it was Peter's turn, he looked at the console, took a breath and nodded to the chief who started the simulation. When the captain would issue an order to tactical, Peters responded quickly. At one point, he anticipated the captain's order and when the captain gave that order, Peters had that order already logged in the computer and the ship returned fire, using phasers and torpedoes.

The simulation ended, and when a ship arrived to ferry the cadets back to the Academy, the security chief pulled Peters aside, and told him, "when you graduate, you'll have a place on the Dakota." Then he shook Peter's hand and clasped his shoulder. Peters returned to the other ship which took them back to the Academy.

Graduation arrived.
Peters ended with ranked 20th in his graduating class. He knew he could go to the Dakota, but instead, choose the Wayfarer.
