Personality & Traits

General Overview		Enrique can be classified as a “dreamer”. He has an extremely positive attitude, and an extremely idealistic and romantic attitude towards Starfleet as an organization. Some might consider that a bit of naivete on his part. Nevertheless, while at the academy he performed admirably, graduating in the top 15% of his class. He projects to perform extremely well at his duties, however it remains to be seen how he reacts to any incident or situation that might introduce adversity or cynicism into his worldview.
Strengths & Weaknesses		Extremely competent engineer, quick to think and react on his feet. As mentioned, his naivete and romanticism can be seen as a detriment.
Ambitions		Enrique joined Starfleet to travel the galaxy. He wants to see and experience as much as he can while in Starfleet.

Personal History		Enrique Valdes, known as Rico to those close to him. Was born in Valle de Guadalupe, on the Baja Peninsula on Earth. His family are the proprietors of a highly successful winery/resort in the area. His mother (Maria) comes from a long line of winemakers and viticulturalists, while his father (Diego) is a highly successful chef. He has 2 brothers (Jose and Vicente) and one sister (Magaly), all of whom have stuck with the family and their business. The Valdes family was extremely supportive of Enrique's dream to join Starfleet, as it had interested him from a very young age. A regular visitor to their resort and family friend, Captain Victor Macias (ret) would regale Enrique of tales of Starfleet, from deep space exploration experiences to stories about the Dominion War. In fact, it was Captain Macias who sponsored Enrique's application to the Academy.
